Beltane Dance

Join us for our Beltane celebration! We will dance under the maypole and move beneath the trees through a ceremonial dance journey. 🔥 Beltane celebrates life at its most alive, evoking sensual, creative, and abundant energy. It’s a festival of fire and flowers, of movement and union. It is an ancient Celtic festival considered the counterpart of Samhain (Halloween), as the veil is thin at this time of year, allowing for connection with our ancestors. It is also one of the fire festivals in the Wheel of the Year and is rooted in the ancient belief that fire purifies and protects. The word Beltane comes from the god, Bel, of Celtic mythology, meaning "bright fire" or "Bel's fire." Bel or Belenus is associated with light, healing, and the sun. This is a joyful celebration of abundance, beauty, sun magick, blossoming, and healing. 🔥WHAT TO EXPECT 🔥 The Maypole We will honor this ancient tradition by dancing and weaving beneath the Maypole! The maypole has ancient roots and is associated with fertility, tree worship, and the balance of the feminine and masculine. Biodanza Opening with Ashley King Ashley King will lead us in Biodanza: The Dance of Life + The Poetry of Human Encounter Explore movement, music, community, and heartfelt, intentional connection! Our “vivencia” (from the Spanish word “vivir,” meaning “to live”) will include a series of artfully guided dances and encounters designed to evoke core emotion and authentic expression. Together we will move, play, explore, and celebrate our collective aliveness. ECSTATIC DANCE with Damiana Then flow into an ecstatic dance experience guided by Damiana, whose beats will carry you through waves of rhythm, release, and joy. Cool Down + Sound Bath We will wind down from our ecstatic dance with a cool down led by Jayme followed by a sound bath with Allie. FIRE DANCE We will have live fire performers! A beautiful symbol of the magic of Beltane. Throughout the Event Build a Ceremonial Flower Crown Collaborative Artwork Interact with the Community Altar, feel free to bring items to add to it!
