Crochet II: Filet Crochet

Filet crochet, the original pixel art! Using two stitches, this technique creates picture-like designs. This popular type of crochet evolved from Fourth Dynasty Egypt lacing used in dresses for the aristocracy (that’s as early as 2551 BC!) and is deceptively (advanced) beginner friendly. In this 3 hours workshop, you will learn the building blocks of filet crochet and how to design your own pattern. Once you have learned this technique, filet crochet can be used to make wall art, wearables, accessories, and home decor.
