First Friday on Percy Street

Percy Street's luminous "Electric Street" will host a First Friday block party this Friday, October 2nd, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., on the 1300 block of S. Percy Street in Passyunk Square. Hosted by Nice Things Handmade and Percy Street Project, this event will feature more than 40 vendors, including handmade goods, artwork, jewelry, and more. Live painting will also take place throughout the evening, with artists creating murals on a four-sided community mural wall presented by Rose Bear Arts. Music is scheduled all evening, with performances by banjo player Houston West, Jacob Waters, and DJs Linz and Mars. Light bites will be available from local bakery, The Underbites Bites. Known for its illuminating lights and murals, Electric Street was created by artists David Guinn and Drew Billiau in partnership with Mural Arts Philadelphia and the Knight Foundation. The installation features illuminated artwork and murals throughout the narrow alley. The event is free and open to all ages. Leashed dogs are welcome.
