Join us for a free screening of Pulitzer Prize-winner James Ijames' new play, The Most Spectacularly Lamentable Trial of Miz Martha Washington, next Saturday, May 2, at 2:30PM. A satire that explores issues of race, power, and historical memory through a hallucinatory trial of Martha Washington, this play promises to blend striking imagery, amazing production and performances, and a sincere reckoning with the legacy of slavery in the US. This is a recorded performance from its recent run at the Wilma Theater here in Philadelphia. Part of our Philly 250 observance, which reflects on our shared history and futures together. After the screening, feel free to stick around and share your thoughts on the play, performance, and any ideas it inspires for you! This event will be held on our third floor, accessible by elevator.
