Philadelphia, come celebrate Juneteenth the Sofar way: up close, unfiltered, and rooted in Black artistry. On June 19, Sweet Baked Couture becomes our secret venue. We open with two of the city's most intentional spoken word artists — Secret Scribez and Lady Sarkazym — sharing new work about lineage, joy, and liberation. Then J. Wilson takes the room with his signature blend of boombap and bae: live-looped harmonies, honest storytelling, and grooves that make a bakery feel like a sanctuary. This is not a showcase with a distant stage. It's three voices, one night, no spoilers on the setlist — the intimate format Sofar Philly has been building all month to honor heritage through neighborhood spaces.
