How Playdate works, and what happens with your information.
Playdate is an app for finding things to do in your city and the people who host them. Browse local events, save the ones you like, RSVP, and follow your favorite hosts. Hosts use it to post their events and reach new people.
Yes. Playdate is free to download and use. Some events have a ticket price set by the host; the event page shows it, and the host handles tickets through their own link.
You must be at least 16 to use Playdate, and at least 18 to host events. The full eligibility rules are in our Terms of Service.
Pick your city and the Explore tab shows what is happening there. You can search, change the city, and narrow it down by date. Your feed also shows new events from the hosts you follow.
No. Playdate does not collect your device’s precise location and does not track you in the background. You choose your city yourself. When you search for a place, that search is sent to Google Places to find it.
Yes. Tap the bookmark on any event to save it, and sort saved events into your own lists, like “Date ideas” or “This weekend”.

A guest account is for discovering events: browse, save, RSVP, and follow hosts. A host account can also create and publish events. You choose the account type when you sign up.
From a host account, tap the create tab, add a photo, a title, a date and time, and a place, then publish. Not ready yet? Save it as a draft and finish it later.

Yes. When you create an event you can repeat it daily, weekly, every two weeks, or monthly, over the date range you choose.

Your name, username, profile photo, and city are always visible to other users. If your profile is public, they can also see your bio, header image, events, RSVPs, and connections. Your email address and date of birth are never shown to other users.
A private profile hides your events, connections, and activity from anyone who does not follow you. People send you a follow request, and only the ones you approve can see them.
The host can always see who is coming. Other people see you in the RSVP list only if your profile is public, or if they follow you.
No. We do not sell your personal information, we do not include advertising SDKs in the app, and we do not share your data for targeted advertising. We use a product-analytics provider, on our behalf only, to understand how the app is used.
Yes. Add a second account from the account switcher on your profile, then switch between them without signing out.

On their profile, open the menu and choose Block user or Report user. To report an event, open the menu on the event page and choose Report event. When you block someone, you stop seeing each other’s profiles and events.
Go to Settings and choose Delete account. Deletion happens right away, with no waiting period, and removes your account data and photos. We keep a minimal deletion record for up to 12 months to prevent abuse, and backups are cleared within 7 days.
