Silent Book Club West Chester

Silent Book Club is a global community of readers, with nearly 2000 chapters in 55+ countries around the world led by local volunteers. SBC members gather in public at bars, cafés, bookstores, libraries, and online to read together in quiet camaraderie. WHAT CAN I EXPECT? Silent Book Clubs meet in person at least once a month. We spend the first half-hour socializing and grabbing drinks/food, then we start an hour of silent reading, and we finish with a half-hour talking about what we read. THIS EVENT Since Silent Book Club West Chester began, we’ve wanted to have an Open-Air Market meetup. Other chapters have done something similar, and it’s pretty cool to see readers taking over a street. Join us to do just that on July 18th! For this one, you don’t have to RSVP to attend, but if you do, that’ll make sure you get a reminder and any weather-related updates How does it work? Anyone is welcome! Bring your own book and a chair, blanket, or beach towel. Then settle in on the street and read with fellow book lovers. **Saturday, July 18 9:00 – 11:00** Gay Street Open-Air Market Meet at 100 E. Gay Street (outside of Bookmarks and the Post Office… a nice, shady area) 9:00-9:30: Show up, check in, and snag a spot on the street. 9:30-10:30: Quiet Reading Hour. 10:30-11:00: Chat with your fellow book readers, keep reading, or head out and about downtown.
