Volo Philly’ 1st Birthday!

No. 01Free

Volo Philly’ 1st Birthday!

Friday, 6:00–9:00 PM • Cavanaugh's River Deck • Free

Volo Philly turns one, and the party is games, food and drinks, giveaways and cash prizes across three hours. The host is explicit that day-one members and complete newcomers are equally welcome, so you don't need a league history to show up. Free, and early enough that it doesn't have to be the whole night.

House Rules

Friday, 9:00 PM–1:00 AM • Star|Bolt • $10

A dance-first night at Star|Bolt from Good Haven Collective, with Kwasi, Fooku and Kingspy playing soulful house, R&B, club, disco and hip hop edits across the whole night. It is the only event on the weekend's entire calendar that starts after 8 PM, so a late Friday is basically this or nothing. Ten dollars, and the hosts note that attending means consenting to be photographed for promotional use.

Sweat & Sculpt by Jac x WAKA FLOCKA FLAME

Saturday, 8:30 AM–12:30 PM • Friends Select School • $120

The priciest ticket of the weekend, and the one bundling the most into it — a low-impact mat pilates class for all levels, a live Waka Flocka Flame set, a Juice Pod smoothie bar, HeyDay facials, and Sweathouz cold plunges. The ticket also includes an active set that ships to you in advance, so order early and get your sizes right. Bring your own mat, and arrive at 8:30 even though class starts at 9.

PSGRC: Run to Book Club with Jo Piazza

Saturday, 9:00 AM • Philadelphia Museum of Art Steps • Free

Two miles from the Art Museum Steps to La Maison Jaune off Rittenhouse, run by Philly Slow Girl Run to mark Jo Piazza's new novel. Piazza will be at the café afterward with copies for sale and a signing. The organizers say non-readers are welcome, which is the right read — the run is short and the destination is a coffee stop either way.

Anyone Can Be A Maker

Saturday, 1:00–3:00 PM • Fishtown Urby Apartments • $45

Two hours at Urby from The Makers Table, with a craft kit, build-your-own floral bouquets, made-to-order matcha and an ice cream sundae bar using Killer Brownies. It is aimed at people who make things for fun rather than practice, so no prior skill is assumed. Every attendee is entered for an Urby Fishtown staycation giveaway.

The Pink Room

Saturday, 7:30–10:00 PM • Sweet Bakes Couture, Fishtown • $23

The PINK Room Chronicles and Sofar Philly take over a Girard Avenue bakery for a poetry-and-cupcakes night, with LindoYes, Vee Poets and Fawziyya Heart performing and tiffxtalks curating. Sunday, 12:00 PM–11:45 PM • Garage Fishtown • Free

Garage Fishtown marks ten years with a twelve-hour open door — free stuff, prizes and drink specials, with Richie Acuzio DJing from 5 to 9. The long window is the point, since you can treat it as a Sunday afternoon beer or as the end of the night. If you want one thing on Sunday that asks nothing of you in advance, it's this.
