The Sunflower Festival runs eight hours across the 1700–1900 blocks of Fairmount Avenue, with local vendors, food, drinks, and music down the street. A South Philly flower shop turns its floor into a candlelit Tuscan setting for one evening, handing you three cocktails from a local mixologist while you build a garden-style arrangement with olive branches and seasonal blooms. Four emerging Philadelphia-area songwriters — Jenn, Ben, Kadaysha, and Chris — play original material completely unplugged at the Random Tea Room. The host declines to call it a showcase and suggests bringing a book or a sketch pad, which tells you the register. Free to attend, though donations for the performers are strongly encouraged.
